We've been doing holidays for over 40 years and in that time we've learnt there's really a lot more to 40 winks than putting heads on beds. Holiday Safeguard Scheme
For peace of mind if you need to cancel or change a holiday you've booked for any reason, including you're just not happy travelling or your plans have changed since you booked, then when you add our low cost Holiday Safeguard Scheme when you book it makes your changes much more flexible and you'll be able to claim a refund. It gives you peace of mind that if your plans change later for other unexpected things that crop up you've got the flexibility you need. We strongly recommend adding the Holiday Safeguard Scheme when you book, this one-time payment protects you from having to pay the full cost of your holiday in case of cancellation and offers additional benefits:
- Far more flexibility if you need to amend your booking, particularly closer to arrival
- Refund of the difference if you amend to a cheaper break
- Chance to claim a refund if you need to cancel your holiday

Holiday Safeguard Scheme is not a policy of insurance, nor does it replicate all the features of a typical holiday insurance policy or car breakdown cover. If you require insurance cover then you should purchase this through an insurance provider or broker authorised by the Financial Services Authority. Please note that the Holiday Safeguard Scheme will not cover you for losses incurred other than those sums paid to Woolacombe Bay Holiday Village Ltd. nor any costs involved with providing documentary evidence. In the case of multiple party or group bookings, such as where more than one Holiday Home or Camping & Touring pitch is booked at the same time, cover is assessed on each Holiday Home or pitch individually.

Changing your holiday booking
Free amendments when you change online
If your holiday plans change after you've booked then you still have flexibility to amend your booking based on whether you purchased our Holiday Safeguard Scheme, which you are strongly recommended to do. It also means if you change your holiday to a cheaper stay you'll get a refund of the difference when you opt to add the scheme, there's never any refunds without this cover. You can amend elements of your holiday like your Park, date, duration and accommodation or pitch type in My Account as many times as you like within the same arrival year:
+ Changing your booking 56+ days before arrival
With Holiday Safeguard Scheme: amend to any available holiday of the same type in the same year - if you select a higher price break you will need to pay the difference, if you select a lower price break we will refund the difference in the same way you made the original payment*.
Without Holiday Safeguard Scheme: amend to any available holiday of the same type in the same year - if you select a higher price break you will need to pay the difference, if you select a lower price break there will be NO refund.
*excludes payments made by voucher, credit note or transfer note and any amendment fees which are non-refundable. If you used vouchers, credit notes or transfer notes to pay for your holiday, we may be able to transfer them to another holiday with us but, unfortunately, we can't refund them or credit them back to your account.
Camping & Touring pitch holidays can be amended to upgrade to Holiday Home accommodation, but amendments cannot be made the other way around.
+ Changing your booking 14 - 55 days before arrival
With Holiday Safeguard Scheme: amend to any available holiday of the same type in the same year - if you select a higher price break you will need to pay the difference, if you select a lower price break we will refund the difference in the same way you made the original payment*.
Without Holiday Safeguard Scheme: no amendments.

No amendments.
Free amendments do not include cancellation.
Cancelling your holiday booking
If we tell you we have to cancel your booking for any reason whatsoever you can move your holiday to a future date or receive a full refund. If you wish to cancel your booking and it has not been cancelled by us, and you don't want to or can't amend your holiday to change it to a different date then cancellation policy in our booking conditions applies.
With Holiday Safeguard Scheme on your booking:
If you wish to cancel your booking then you can claim a refund depending on when you cancel and the reason for cancellation. 'Qualifying reasons' for refund entitlement must not have existed at the time before booking, must cover the dates of your holiday booking and you will be required to supply official documentary evidence to our reasonable satisfaction of their occurrence and date they occurred for the reason you are cancelling before a refund can be processed, they are:
- Sickness including Covid-19 of any person in your party listed on the booking
- Bereavement of any person in your party listed on the booking or a close relative
- Redundancy of any person in your party listed on the booking
- Jury service of any person in your party listed on the booking
+ Cancelling your booking 56+ days before arrival
Qualifying reason: full refund less the Holiday Safeguard Scheme premium*.
Any other reason: loss of standard deposit** and Holiday Safeguard Scheme premium, all other money refunded*. Even if you have to pay a top-up deposit, choose to pay in full or in instalments you really can book with confidence because with low cost Holiday Safeguard Scheme you can cancel with a full refund, less the standard deposit, up to 8 weeks before arrival whatever the reason and no questions asked. We call it our 'No Quibble Refund Guarantee' and it really does what is says!

If you used vouchers, credit notes or transfer notes to pay for your holiday, we may be able to transfer them to another holiday with us but, unfortunately, we can't refund them or credit them back to your account. If you're not entitled to a refund, do remember you can still change your holiday booking. **Standard deposit is £40 per week or short break for self-catering holidays and £5 per night for Camping & Touring holidays.
+ Cancelling your booking 1 - 2 days before arrival
Qualifying reason: refund of 30% of total holiday cost less the Holiday Safeguard Scheme premium*.
Any other reason: no refund.
+ Cancelling your booking on or after the day of arrival
No refund including if you fail to arrive or cut your holiday short.
In the case of multiple party or group bookings, such as where more than one Holiday Home or Camping & Touring pitch is booked at the same time, cover is assessed on each Holiday Home or pitch individually.
Please note you're covered for the unexpected events above when you provide documentary evidence, but this cover does not extend to other factors such as relationship breakdown, vehicle breakdown, pet illness or bereavement, leaving your job or your employer changing previously agreed annual leave; in instances where you are not covered in the list above we would recommend amending your holiday rather than forfeiting all you have paid.
Without Holiday Safeguard Scheme on your booking:
Regardless of the reason for cancellation you will forfeit all monies previously paid with NO refund and be liable to pay the remaining balance, therefore you are strongly recommended to add this cover at the time of booking. Unfortunately if you can't change your holiday as an option, you will need to claim back through your holiday insurance provider.
