Accessible caravan holidays in Woolacombe
We've gone the extra mile to ensure that our caravan holidays cater to everyone, especially those with disabilities. We offer luxurious Gold adapted caravans designed to provide greater accessibility and comfort, with both pet-free and pet–friendly options available so everyone can have a break by the seaside.
Our adapted caravans are spacious and equipped with features such as sliding internal doors and a specially adapted bathroom. Additionally, upon request at the time of booking, we can configure the beds in the master bedroom as a double or twins depending on access needs and a trapeze lift handle is provided to further assist guests with mobility challenges.
Despite being designed for accessibility, our adapted caravans don't compromise on amenities. You'll find all the essentials you need for a comfortable stay, including a TV, microwave, fridge-freezer, and central heating throughout.
Wheelchair accessible holiday lets in Devon feature:
The terrain on Twitchen House Holiday Park is better suited to guests with mobility needs and we have located our accessible caravans together on a flat area with wider pathways.
Especially adapted for guests who rely on wheelchairs or have restricted or moderate mobility:
- Ramp access to the entrance door
- Wet room with seating in shower
- Handrails and sliding doors throughout
- Trapeze lift handle in main bedroom
- Main bedroom with wheelchair accessible 3ft twin beds (can be a double)
- Second bedroom with 2'6" beds (not wheelchair accessible)

You can book your adapted caravan online but we recommend speaking to our team members before you make a reservation to ensure what we have to offer meets your needs. Our team members are all based on our Parks so will listen to your requirements so please kindly explain them fully, although we would like to accommodate all guests sometimes we may not be suitable for everyone.
Pet friendly wheelchair accessible holidays
We warmly embrace assistance dogs at our holiday parks, and there's no additional charge for their accommodation. You're free to book any self-catering accommodation with us without the necessity for it to be designated as dog-friendly. If you're planning to bring an assistance dog along on your holiday, we kindly request that you inform us well in advance of your arrival and you will need to provide us with a copy of your dog’s booklet from ADUK, insurance certificate to show it’s a working assistance dog or a letter from your assistance dog trainer. This allows us to provide you with all the necessary arrangements for your break.
If you need accommodation for guests using a wheelchair or with restricted mobility but you are bringing a pet or emotional support dog, then two of our Gold adapted caravans welcome pets for an additional charge.
Other accommodation options in Woolacombe
We have a range of caravans and lodges which may be suitable for guests who have minor to moderate mobility difficulties. Each is accessed by at least three steps and we are unable to supply ramps to access these. Our first floor apartment and farmhouse accommodation each has stairs so before booking these you are advised to discuss fully your needs with us.
Accessible holiday accommodation and pitches in North Devon
Woolacombe Bay Holiday Park gets its amazing views from the fact it is on the side of a valley and means it is very hilly with inclines to all areas. The main facilities are toward the bottom of this incline with all accommodation uphill from this area. It is a steep walk down to the beach. We’ll be honest, because it is on such a steep slope we find it very hard to recommend Woolacombe Bay as a Park to stay on for guests who have anything more than minor mobility issues so we strongly suggest choosing to stay at one of our other two Parks.
Twitchen House Holiday Park is our most suitable for guests in a wheelchair or with restricted mobility. The Park slopes up and down with more areas on a slope than others, with the central facilities being in the lowest point of the Park. The Park has a mix of grass, gravel and tarmac paths but access between the adapted caravans which are located on a flat area and the main facilities is flatter.
There are also pitches for Camping & Touring holidays at Twitchen House. Super pitches are generally on flat areas with easier access to the shower block which has wheelchair accessible toilets and bathroom. Some other pitches may be suitable but we recommend speaking to us before you book. We would advise guests with mobility issues not to book pitches on grass bases as there can be an incline to access them and only a few are on flatter areas.
Easewell Farm Holiday Park has mainly flat pitches but in some areas there are steeper paths and roads to access them. The Super pitches on an all-weather base are most suitable for guests with mobility needs and are more level to the shower blocks. We have one caravan at Easewell Farm with parking directly adjacent, the surface of the area directly around the caravan is gravel so this should be considered.
Accessible holiday park facilities in Woolacombe
When you stay at one of our Parks you get to use the facilities on all three. The main facilities at both Woolacombe Bay and Twitchen House were built since 2014 so are compliant with prevailing access requirements. Where practical, other reasonable adjustments are made in other areas.
Access at Woolacombe Bay
Main facilities access: There is disabled access to the reception through the entrance which has ramps from the car parks. The all-day café bar, amusement arcade, cinema and pottery painting studio are all on the ground floor level. There is a lift available to the entertainment lounge on the first floor. The spa, shop and launderette are located next to the main car park with step-free access. There are wheelchair accessible toilets on the ground floor and first floor tiers of the main leisure complex.
Swimming pool access: The indoor pool is located on the lower ground floor and has a wheelchair friendly changing room. A team member will be able to assist with using the lift or an alternative route for wheelchair users. Access to the outdoor pool is by a steep ramp. The indoor pool has sloping steps with a handrail, the outdoor pool has vertical steps into the main pool but the adjoining SplashPad water play area is flat and even. One of the single-rider slides can be accessed by a wheelchair. There is no hoist available for use at either pool. The plunge pool and jacuzzi in the spa are not suitable for guests with limited mobility.
Accommodation areas suitable for guests with disabilities: This Park is not suited to wheelchair users or those with walking difficulties who do not have transport to the main complex as the terrain is very steep.
Access at Twitchen House
Main facilities access: The main complex and car park is one of the flatter areas on Park. There is disabled access to the reception through the entrance which has no-step access from the car park. The all-day café bar, amusement arcade and entertainment lounge are all on the ground floor level. There is a lift available to the cinema on the lower ground which is operated by a team member, please simply ask when required. The pottery painting studio, shop and launderette are all on the lower ground floor accessed externally with step-free access. There are wheelchair accessible toilets on both levels of the main leisure complex.
Swimming pool access: The indoor pool is located in a separate building adjacent to the main facilities with level access and has a wheelchair friendly changing room and disabled toilets. The waterslides are located high up in a flumes tower and not accessible to wheelchairs. The outdoor pool is on the same level as the main facilities and has poolside steps but the adjoining SplashPad water play area is flat and even. Changing rooms for the outdoor pool are located in the lower ground floor accessible by lift operated by a team member. There is no hoist available for use at either pool.
Accommodation areas suitable for guests with disabilities: The Park is our most wheelchair friendly, although the terrain is not flat and there are quite a few hilly areas. Our adapted Gold caravans are located to be most suitable for guests with access needs but you may wish to speak to a team member before booking about other accommodation types and camping pitches which may be suitable.
Access at Easewell Farm
Main facilities access: There are fewer facilities here than our other Parks. The reception is located on the top of a steep incline and has steps to access it, however a team member will be happy to come to you. The main bar has step-free access from the car park and wheelchair accessible toilet. The fish and chips takeaway is situated up five steps with a handrail, team members will be able to assist with coming to you or food can be ordered next door at The Easewell Arm bar.
Swimming pool access: The indoor pool has a regular width entrance door and there is are no disabled toilets or changing rooms in the pool. There is no hoist available and as the pool is not lifeguarded we do not recommend using this pool for wheelchair users or those with very restricted mobility.
Accommodation areas suitable for guests with disabilities: Pitches suitable for guests with disabilities include B, C and D Fields.
